"I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones"
John Cage
Davici Consulting offers support and consultancy to education and training institutions relating to widening participation, especially in the context of vocational and work-based learning, such as Apprenticeships.
“..for the future of young people in our economy and for the future of our economy.”
So said Gordon Brown, in May 2004, talking about Apprenticeships. David Fisher has been involved in the promotion of Apprenticeships and the progression of apprentices to higher education, for some years. Apprenticeships are an ideal way for people to learn the skills of a trade while gaining the underpinning academic knowledge to support those skills, and being paid while doing so.
As Davici Consulting, David is now offering his services to organisations to both promote the take-up of Apprenticeships and to ease apprentices’ transition to higher education as part of lifelong learning. For further information on previous and current clients, please go to ‘Clients’.
If you would like to know more about Apprenticeships in Yorkshire and the Humber, including how to get one and the advantages that this route has as a way into higher education, please gowww.apprentice-forward.org.uk. The site also includes a fully searchable database of options for progression for an Advanced Apprentice in the region.
